About Alan Ranger

  • Biography

Born in London, raised in Suffolk and settled in downtown Coventry;  I spent the first 25 years of my adult life working in the corporate world as a Freelance Consultant in business change management.  In 2012, tired of working short contracts (and continually being away from home and family), I launched my own training company -  Alan Ranger Photography.

The next 18 months saw me build upon the foundations of my fledgling venture with: a solid business model, skill-set expansion and camera craft advancement.  By November 2013,  I was fully equipped to become a full-time photography practitioner and prepared to move into the next phase of growing my business.

Photography has always provided a medium for me to express my personal interpretations and emotions about the subjects I encounter; this perception has led me to being presented with locations and situations which may not have transpired, had I not been a photographer.

The ability to share my images and inspire others to go forth, to explore, to create and to interpret has led to my provision of professional photography tuition for discerning creatives.

The landscape is the reason I fell in love with photography.

Landscapes are the places I want to escape to at weekends – away from the stress and politics of corporate life.  Landscapes allow me to re-charge, ground myself and experience their beauty and ever-changing climate.

My landscape images reflect my connection with the outdoor world and nature's beauty, expressing a personal sense of solitude and an overwhelming sense of our insignificance on the planet.
