Biography
The recent works on this site are painted in acrylic using the paint with lots of water and with great fluidity, almost like watercolours. They are a small series focussing on the fragility of forests and the risks such as flood and fire, accelerated by manmade climate change that so perilously endanger them. Forests through the seasons are so beautiful but sometimes the change in their colours are reflective of great hazards.
The way in which these paintings are made do not allow for total control. They are made outside in the garden where I apply the paint and the water and then tip and swivel the canvas allowing the paint to navigate its own wilful way across the surface of the picture plane just as happens in floods and wildfires.
