About Sibel Kucukbingol

Biography

I define myself as a multidisciplinary artist who bridges the structural discipline of a sculptor with the fluid expression of a painter, influenced by human psychology, Mediterranean heritage, and contemporary American energy.

Based in Florida, USA, I am originally from Turkey, where I received my formal education in Sculpture at Marmara University — one of the nation’s most prestigious fine arts academies. This rigorous academic foundation, complemented by extensive training in painting and jewelry design, allowed me to cultivate a practice that moves seamlessly between three-dimensional form and two-dimensional narrative.

My work is rooted in 13 years of dedicated research into how complex human emotions and deep psychological states can be distilled into visual language. I am driven by the alchemy of translating the invisible into the tangible.

Throughout my career, I have collaborated with distinguished artists to refine a style that harmonizes traditional techniques with modern aesthetics. Moving to the United States introduced a transformative layer to my perspective, creating a purposeful fusion between my Mediterranean roots and the vibrant energy of my new surroundings.

In my work, I seek to represent that intersection — where local heritage meets global contemporary art, and where the precise construction of a sculptor meets the evocative, layered storytelling of a painter. I create pieces that invite the viewer not just to look, but to find a fragment of their own story within the canvas.
