Artworks by Belgin Parlak

Belgin Parlak was born in Istanbul in 1963 and graduated from the Turkish Decorative Painting Department of the Girls’ Technical Institute of Advanced Studies. Her artistic background includes painting, charcoal portraiture, fashion design, styling, and traditional handicrafts.

After experiencing professional disappointments and financial difficulties, she stepped away from art for many years. Today, she has returned to her artistic practice with a renewed perspective.

Her works focus mainly on women, Anatolian culture, traditional clothing, jewellery, and cultural identity. By combining painting with decorative materials such as pearls, stones, sequins, and glitter, she aims to create a contemporary connection between tradition and the present.
