About Okana Esin Golgeli

Biography

I was born in Kyiv, Ukraine, where my interest in art began at an early age. I studied at Kyiv National University of Culture and Arts, developing both my creative and professional approach to art.

Art has been part of my life for as long as I can remember. My great-grandfather, Верна Петро Петрович (Petro Verna), was a renowned Ukrainian woodcarver and an Honoured Master of Folk Art of the Ukrainian SSR, a title awarded to him in 1964. Growing up with his legacy, I was inspired to create from an early age and drew on every spare piece of paper I could find. His dedication to craftsmanship and creativity continues to influence my work today. Art remains an important part of my family, with other relatives continuing the tradition through oil painting and sculpture.

My journey started with wall painting projects and creating illustrations for local magazines during my study. These experiences taught me to work with different styles, spaces, and audiences while continuing to develop my own artistic voice.

Today, I primarily work with oil and watercolour, creating original paintings inspired by everyday beauty, nature, light, and human connection. I enjoy exploring colour, atmosphere, and emotion, aiming to create artworks that bring warmth and character into a home.

Each painting is created by hand with care and attention to detail, and I hope my work brings as much joy to collectors as it brings to me while creating it.
