About Maksim Gorshkov
Biography
I have been drawing for as long as I can remember, beginning my journey with the quiet precision of pencil on paper. In 2019, my practice expanded into digital art, unlocking new dimensions of form and color. However, my relocation to Rome in 2020 marked a pivotal evolution in my work—it was in the Eternal City that I fell in love with the tactile richness and vibrancy of acrylic and oil paints.
My paintings are an intuitive, direct reflection of my inner state—capturing the exact emotions, energy, and thoughts experienced during the creative act.
Working primarily within abstract and semi-abstract realms, I aim to create open-ended visual conversations. Rather than imposing a fixed narrative, I invite viewers to become co-creators of the experience, encouraging them to bridge my abstract forms with their own personal memories, feelings, and reflection.
