Art has been part of my life for as long as I can remember. I have always been drawn to the way colour, light and simple shapes can transform an ordinary landscape into something emotional and memorable.
Living in Australia has given me a new source of inspiration. The Australian landscape — its open skies, unique wildlife, forests and coastline — constantly gives me new ideas. I also draw on my connection with Canada, particularly the landscapes of Vancouver Island, creating a visual dialogue between the two places that have shaped me.
My paintings combine contemporary Cubism with my own simplified geometric style. I enjoy reducing a landscape to its essential shapes and colours while keeping enough texture and movement to make the work feel alive. Kangaroos and other elements of Australian nature sometimes appear quietly within the compositions, creating a sense of place without overwhelming the painting.
What I love most about being an artist is the possibility that something I created in my studio can eventually become meaningful to someone in another home, another city or even another country.
I am interested in Artfinder because it feels like a place where independent artists can connect directly with people who genuinely appreciate original art. I would be excited to share my work with the Artfinder community and reach collectors who connect with my Australian-inspired contemporary style.
For me, art is ultimately about connection — between places, experiences, colour and people. That is what continues to inspire me to paint.
