Into the Gum Trees (2026) Original Acrylic Painting by Vasily Kulchenko

Inspired by the structure and colour of the Australian bush, the painting breaks the landscape into bold, angular forms—deep greens, earthy ochres, warm oranges, blues and unexpected flashes of pink. The fractured shapes suggest sunlight filtering through eucalyptus leaves and create a feeling of movement as the eye travels deeper into the forest.

At the centre, a small kangaroo quietly crosses the landscape. Its scale against the larger geometric forms creates a sense of distance and solitude, while giving the painting an unmistakably Australian character.

The combination of cubist-inspired geometry, expressive colour and textured brushwork transforms a familiar Australian scene into something modern and energetic.

A statement piece designed to bring colour, movement and a distinctly Australian atmosphere into a contemporary interior.
