Artworks by PURNENDU MANDAL

I am driven to create art by my fascination with the emotional character of places, people and everyday life. Through my paintings, I try to capture not only what a city looks like, but also its atmosphere, movement, memories and feelings. My work is inspired particularly by Indian urban landscapes such as Kolkata, Mumbai and Varanasi, which I interpret through contemporary, impressionistic and semi-realistic approaches.

Painting is my way of observing and expressing the world around me. I enjoy working with colour, light, texture, brushwork and palette-knife techniques to create paintings that communicate an emotional experience rather than simply a visual representation.

I want to sell my art on Artfinder because I would like my original paintings to reach art lovers and collectors beyond my local and national audience. Artfinder provides an opportunity to present my work to an international community of people who appreciate original contemporary art. I hope to build meaningful connections with collectors and allow my paintings to become part of personal spaces and stories around the world.
