About Clint Dean

Biography

I began painting in 2024 without a formal art background, and it quickly became the way I process things I don’t always have words for. I’m drawn to structure, architecture, perspective and systems, but my paintings rarely allow those things to remain stable. I build, scrape, cover, erase and reconstruct, often leaving traces of earlier decisions visible beneath the surface.
What drives me is the moment when a painting stops behaving according to the plan and becomes something I couldn’t have completely anticipated. I’m interested in that tension between control and uncertainty—spaces that seem familiar or navigable but never fully resolve.
I want to sell my work on Artfinder because I want the paintings to exist beyond my studio and become part of someone else’s environment and experience. A painting changes when another person lives with it and brings their own interpretation to it. Finding people who genuinely connect with the work matters more to me than explaining exactly what they should see in it.
