Biography
My name is Katsiaryna Ozdemir, and I am a professional artist based in Istanbul, Turkey. My paintings are completely original, and each piece is unique. I also offer limited edition prints on paper and canvas. I work in my private studio in Istanbul, where I paint every day.
My art is based on the idea of restoring harmony to the human soul. I strive to create works that inspire optimism, hope, and inner balance. My paintings explore the journey of returning to oneself—to one's true essence—after a long and challenging path.
My work is deeply autobiographical. I paint people who are important to me, as well as emotions, memories, and experiences connected to them. The human being remains at the center of my artistic practice. Through my paintings, I seek to express the belief that creativity has the power to restore the deeper meaning of human existence.
My creative process varies from work to work. Sometimes I begin with preliminary sketches, carefully developing the composition and concept. At other times, I work intuitively, allowing spontaneous brushstrokes and abstract color relationships to evolve into a complete composition. I enjoy the dialogue between planning and intuition, refining details as the painting gradually reveals itself.
I work primarily with oil and acrylic paints, combining classical painting techniques with a contemporary artistic approach. My paintings almost always reference people, places, or meaningful objects from my own life.
I have participated in numerous international exhibitions and art symposiums, collaborating with artists from different countries and presenting my work to international audiences. These experiences continue to enrich my artistic vision and cultural perspective.
I have been creating art since early childhood and cannot imagine a single day without painting. I first received an art education, followed by a degree in architecture. Although architecture strengthened my understanding of composition, structure, and space, painting ultimately became my true vocation.
Today, I am also pursuing a Master's degree in Plastic Arts, where my research focuses on identity, memory, and the language of contemporary painting. While I have attended advanced painting courses with both Belarusian and Turkish artists, my artistic style has developed independently over many years, evolving through experience, emotion, and personal exploration.
Creativity is not simply my profession—it is my way of life. My goal is to create meaningful works that resonate with people across cultures and to make my art accessible to collectors around the world.
