About Mark Fine Art

Biography

My artistic practice is a deep exploration of form, movement, and emotional energy. As a qualified art teacher by profession, my understanding of artistic theory drives me to master a diverse range of technical approaches. Rather than limiting myself to a single subject, I paint landscapes, expressive wildlife, human figures, and still lifes of fruit, while occasionally pivoting to pure abstraction to map my internal thoughts without any physical object.
Working exclusively with oil paints, my signature method is Sculptural Pointillism. I reject flat brushstrokes to build three-dimensional surfaces, meticulously constructing images through thousands of volumetric dots applied with a rhythmic vertical motion. This transforms paint into a physical relief that casts micro-shadows, creating a shifting optical vibration under changing light. To capture immediate motion, I switch to bold, expressive sweeps of paint, while using refined traditional oil techniques for quiet, atmospheric depth. Inspired by both the tangible beauty of nature and the unseen currents of the mind, my ultimate goal is to translate fluid energy into permanent, deeply tactile visual experiences.
