Biography
Galina Poloz is a contemporary painter based in Moldova, working primarily in watercolour. Her original watercolour paintings explore the quiet space between presence and disappearance, where architecture, landscape, water and light slowly dissolve into memory.
Working with flowing wet-on-wet techniques, she creates atmospheric cityscapes, landscapes and architectural subjects that balance observation with imagination. Rather than documenting specific places, her paintings evoke moments of silence, reflection and the fragile traces that time leaves behind.
Galina graduated with distinction from the Chişinău Art College in Moldova and later earned her degree with distinction from the State Art Institute of Estonia in Tallinn. Her work has been exhibited internationally across Europe and Asia, and her recent paintings have been selected for juried international exhibitions in the United Kingdom, Spain, Italy, Moldova and Mexico. Her works are held in private collections in Europe, North America and Asia.
Inspired by changing light, historic architecture and the poetry of empty spaces, she sees watercolour not simply as a medium, but as a way of expressing impermanence. Each painting invites the viewer to pause and enter a world where memory, atmosphere and light become more important than precise description.
Her work has also been featured in Collect Art Magazine, including an artist interview, portfolio and artist statement.
