About Olga Li

Biography

Olga Litvinova (born in Moscow in 1973) is a Russian-born artist and photographer based in Italy since 1996, where she lives and works in Brescia. She studied art in Moscow and later in Poland, developing an interdisciplinary practice that spans painting, photography, analogue collage, and experimental printmaking. Her work has been exhibited throughout Italy, particularly in Brescia and the Franciacorta region, earning recognition from cultural institutions and art critics. Alongside her artistic practice, she has collaborated with musicians, performers, and creative projects as a fine art photographer. Through analogue collage, photography, and mixed media, Litvinova transforms existing images—editorial cuttings, photographs, and fragments of visual culture—into layered visual narratives. By bringing together seemingly unrelated elements, she creates compositions in which familiar symbols lose their certainty and invite new interpretations. Through irony and symbolism, her work questions cultural myths, collective desires, and the persuasive power of images without offering definitive answers. Each collage encourages viewers to pause, look beyond first impressions, and question what they see.

Her artistic statement is: “I don't illustrate ideas—I create visual questions.”
