About Elena Baydina

Biography

Growing up in a family of engineers, art was treated as a mere hobby until my move to the US, where, after several years of adapting to the new country, I realized painting was something I simply could not live without. Embracing my practice became a profound declaration of my own existence - a way to claim visibility and feel fully alive after navigating the isolating and silencing experience of growing up gay in Russia. Through my work, I want to offer my collectors that same deep sense of presence, a space to finally breathe
and to feel fully alive, providing a supporting reminder that they, too, are seen, they are here, and their feelings manifest themselves through seeing wonder and beauty.

In my work, I prefer to explore collections of themes, rather than focusing on just one style. To me, one painting is never enough to fully tell a story, which is why you will likely see series: Yungian exploration of Arts in Mandalas, California Plants, Zodiac, Moon Phases, Seasons, or other topics I might find of interest.

I want to sell with Artfinder because I value platforms that connect independent artists directly with collectors who appreciate original, meaningful artwork. I enjoy creating work that invites viewers to slow down, connect with emotion, and experience a sense of calm and reflection, and my understanding is that the Artfinder's community is well aligned with sharing the artists' vision with the collectors. As an artist, I'm committed to building a long-term, sustainable practice and reaching collectors who are looking for thoughtfully created original pieces rather than mass-produced work. I am also very strongly aligned with a noAi policy that Artfinder follows.
