Biography
Viktoria Dragon — Artist
Viktoria Dragon is a contemporary artist based in Finland, whose artistic practice is deeply connected to personal experience, emotions and the continuous process of transformation.
Born in Saint Petersburg, Russia, Viktoria has lived and worked in Finland for more than two decades. Her journey has taken her through different countries, professions and life experiences, all of which continue to shape the way she sees and creates art. She began teaching art to children at an early age and has always considered creativity an essential part of her life.
Her paintings explore transformation, inner growth, memory, resilience, hope and the relationship between people and nature. Rather than following one fixed style, Viktoria allows her visual language to evolve with her. Her different series reflect different periods, emotions and awakenings in her life.
She works intuitively with mixed media, combining acrylic, oil, ink, texture and collage. Her process is experimental and tactile: layers are built, altered, covered and rediscovered until the work finds its own balance. Newspaper collage has become an important element of her practice, particularly in her Paper Garden series, where information is transformed into symbolic flowers of hope.
Viktoria’s work has been presented in exhibitions, international art projects and open calls in Finland and abroad. Her recognitions include Second Prize at Golden Talent London 2024 and Third Prize at Golden Global Talent 2025.
For Viktoria, art is not about belonging to one category. It is a way of communicating honestly — transforming lived experience into something visual, tangible and open to personal interpretation.
She creates not only paintings, but also unique art objects, including hand-painted and restored vintage turntables created together with her husband, Dan-Martin Dragon, combining art, music, craftsmanship and sustainability.
