Hope Unfolds (2026) Original Mixed-media Painting by Viktoria Dragon

Hope Unfolds is an original mixed-media painting from my Paper Garden body of work, where fragments of newspaper are transformed into organic forms and imagined flowers.

A vivid flower opens within a quiet, dreamlike landscape, while smaller newspaper forms appear to move through the space around it.

Newspaper usually carries the noise of everyday life — information, uncertainty and constantly changing events. In this work, those fragments are transformed into something fragile, living and capable of change.

For me, Hope Unfolds is about the way hope sometimes appears gradually. Not as certainty, but as a small shift — something quietly beginning to open.

Created with acrylic, oil, ink and newspaper collage on canvas. The combination of layered paint, delicate paper elements and textured surfaces gives the work both depth and tactile detail.
