When Hope Blooms (2026) Original Mixed-media Painting by Viktoria Dragon

Original artwork description
When Hope Blooms is an original mixed-media painting from my Dreams series, created with acrylic, oil, ink and newspaper collage on canvas.
Three large flowers represent three moments in time — the past, the present and the future. The central flower represents the present, while the smallest flower symbolizes the future: something not yet fully formed, but already beginning to grow.
Fragments of newspaper are incorporated into the painting as a symbol of the constant stream of information surrounding us — news, conflict, uncertainty and noise. Within the artwork, these fragments are transformed into flowers. For me, this transformation carries the central idea of the work: even among difficult news, something new can still grow.
Hope is not certainty. Sometimes it is simply the decision not to believe that the story is over.
Layers of acrylic and oil, expressive ink lines and fragments of printed paper create a richly textured surface. From a distance, the work reads as a bold botanical composition; up close, the newspaper fragments, lines and layered details gradually reveal themselves.
The artwork is signed only on the back intentionally. There is no predetermined top or bottom, allowing the collector to choose the orientation in which the composition feels most natural in their space.
Original one-of-a-kind artwork.
