Biography
Emily Lane is a multiple award-winning artist living, painting, and teaching in Bellevue, Washington. Born in Eastern Europe, she was surrounded by visual art from early childhood. Before relocating to the United States, Emily earned a Master’s Degree in Fine Art and Art History and built a successful career in animation and illustration.
After emigrating to the United States, Emily continued refining her painting techniques through studies with such renowned artists as Scott Christensen, Jeremy Lipking, Pam Ingalls, Rob Liberace, Ned Mueller, Jim Lamb, John Bodicin, and Ovanes Berberian.
“I found true joy in painting alla prima, directly from life. The combination of color, light, and expressive brushwork creates an intense emotional experience for me. Painting has become both a profession and a lifelong passion. The subtle effects of light upon form, or capturing the emotion of a fleeting moment on canvas, never cease to amaze me.”
Emily is affiliated with the Women Painters of Washington, Oil Painters of America, Portrait Society of America, and American Impressionist Society.
She is represented by Parklane Gallery and Red Sky Gallery and WPW Gallery in Seattle
