My Practice :
I make art to make sense of things, the natural world, gardens, light, the way things grow underneath. Painting slows me down. It makes me really look.
Most of my work comes from abstract botanical forms, exploring structures and how life organises itself. There's something meditative about that process for me.
This year changed things. Two pieces I've made were selected for London Design Festival exhibitions: Edinburgh When The Sun Finds Her for THE WAY at the Old Waiting Room, Peckham Rye Station (OMMFA), and What Survived for Everything Then is Now II: PLATFORM 0 at the Old Waiting Room at Peckham Rye Station in London.
This shifted something for me, gave me real confidence that what I'm doing in my studio matters, that these paintings can speak to other people too.
I paint in acrylics, and I'm ready to build a sustainable practice around this work. I want to find people who connect with what I'm making, who want to live with these pieces. People who understand that looking closely at the world, at growth, at light, at patterns is a way of being present.
