Artworks by Antonina Bormova

My artistic practice explores psycho-emotional states, inner dialogue, and the ways in which lived experience takes visual form. Through figuration, I work with the complexity of inner life and the coexistence of different emotional states within a single person.

Figure, form, and color become carriers of emotional experience. Through charged compositions, repetition, symbolic imagery, and expressive color, I give visual form to inner processes that often remain invisible. Recurring images shift in meaning depending on context, creating connections between personal experience, subconscious imagery, memory, and contemporary reality.

Irony and visual play are important elements of my artistic language. Unexpected combinations, exaggeration, and altered associations allow familiar experiences to be seen from different perspectives. My work creates a space where viewers can recognize their own emotional states and associations while developing an individual relationship with the image.
