Change Has Reached Even the Easter Bunny (2026) Original Acrylic Painting by Antonina Bormova

75 x 75 x 2cm (unframed) / 75 x 75cm (actual image size)

£672.22

Size: 75 × 75 cm (29.5 × 29.5 in). Signed on the front and back; signed Certificate of Authenticity included.

This painting plays with the familiar image of a foil-wrapped chocolate rabbit, reimagining a recognisable cultural symbol: beneath the shiny wrapper, this time, is not chocolate but popcorn.

The artist uses irony to explore how time gradually rewrites even the most established visual codes. Something perceived for years as stable and predictable takes on a new form while retaining enough familiar features to remain instantly recognisable. Vibrant colour, graffiti-like gestures and the unexpected substitution intensify the encounter between the familiar and the new.

The work reflects on our tendency to automatically assign fixed meanings to familiar symbols. Change and reinterpretation emerge here as natural and slightly ironic processes: ultimately, few things remain as constant as change itself.
