About Caio Caruso

Biography

My work explores the quiet presence of ordinary objects through black and white fine art photography. Working primarily with found natural forms such as feathers, stones, branches and bones, I isolate each subject from its original context so that light, texture and form become the focus. My approach is rooted in the way I think as a printmaker: the photograph is not simply a record of what I see, but a carefully crafted image where reduction and materiality are central.

Each photograph is produced as a limited edition archival pigment print on Hahnemühle Photo Rag paper, emphasising permanence and the tactile qualities of the final work. Rather than documenting nature, I seek to transform familiar fragments into contemplative studies of form, inviting viewers to slow down and discover beauty in what might otherwise pass unnoticed. My ongoing series, Quiet Matter, reflects an interest in silence, observation and the subtle relationship between light and material.
