About Jules Morissette

Biography

Nature is my main source of inspiration. It touches me with its light, the harmony of its colors and its vastness. I like to feel part of this immensity. Drawing and painting allow me to fully accomplish this integration. My creations seem to touch people and selling online is a way for me to convey the positive emotions of my art to others.

My intention is to recreate what I feel in front of a particular landscape or context, without limiting myself to the constraints of figurative realism. The majority of my works are done in acrylic on canvas, in color or monochrome.

With a more intimate approach, I let my subconscious express itself in the creation of my monochrome works. The realization here is strongly influenced by sumi-e, a Japanese art characterized by the relative stripping of the composition. It is then a question of knowing how to balance form with emptiness, and above all, knowing when one has "said" enough. My playground is the emptiness of the white canvas, it is the space of a fertile universe of all possibilities.
