About Regimantas Valiukas

Biography

Regimantas Valiukas is a Lithuanian contemporary realist painter working primarily in oil. His practice focuses on realism, hyperrealism and trompe-l'œil, with particular attention to still life, floral subjects and the subtle interaction of light, surface and material.

He approaches painting slowly and methodically, building each work through careful observation, precise drawing and multiple layers of paint. Small details, texture and spatial depth play an important role in his work, but technical accuracy is always balanced with atmosphere, composition and a strong sense of visual presence.

Regimantas works mainly on carefully prepared panels and linen, using professional artists’ materials and a highly controlled painting process. He is particularly interested in the way light can transform ordinary objects and reveal subtle differences in texture, colour and form.

His aim is not simply to imitate reality, but to create a convincing visual presence and a sense of quiet intensity within each work.
