Christos discovered his love for painting at the age of ten, when he took his first painting lessons and created his first works of art. Although art remained an important part of his life, his professional journey initially took him in another direction. After moving to the UK, he earned both a Bachelor’s and a Master’s degree in Business Statistics and went on to work as a business controller in the oilfield sector.

In December 2019, Christos decided to leave his corporate career and dedicate himself to painting, realising that his true path lay not in spreadsheets, but in complex canvases.

Working primarily with acrylics, brushes, and spatulas, Christos explores atmosphere, landscape as experience, memory, and the space between representation and abstraction. His paintings develop through layers of paint, erasure, scraping, and rebuilding, creating textured surfaces where traces of the painting’s history remain visible.

Rather than simply depicting a place, he is interested in capturing how it feels—the atmosphere, light, emotion, and memories it evokes. His work combines soft, atmospheric qualities with a compelling structure, inviting viewers to slow down and discover their own experience within each painting.

For Christos, painting is ultimately about freedom and happiness. When he paints, he stops thinking and becomes completely absorbed in the process. Through his work, he hopes to offer viewers that same feeling of pause, escape, and connection.
