Biography
Born and raised in central London, Holly graduated with a BA (Hons) in Fine Art from Bath Spa University, a highly regarded creative institution situated on Sion Hill in the historic city of Bath. During her studies, she developed a deep fascination with colour theory, symbolism, mythology, and the enduring power of visual storytelling. These themes continue to inform her practice today.
Drawing inspiration from ancient symbols, Jungian psychology, myth, magic, and the archetypal feminine, Holly's paintings explore the universal narratives that connect us across cultures and generations. She is particularly interested in Carl Jung's concept of the collective unconscious and the role of archetypes within art. Recurring motifs such as goddesses, birds, and her iconic Tiger Princess serve as symbolic expressions of courage, transformation, intuition, and inner wisdom.
The Tiger Princess first emerged during a significant turning point in Holly's own life and has continued to reappear throughout her work as a symbol of strength, resilience, and the courage to move forward. Her Goddess Series developed from a personal exploration of feminine power, creativity, and self-discovery. For Holly, the Divine Feminine represents an ancient archetype embodying wisdom, creation, cyclical renewal, and connection to the natural world.
Over the course of her career, Holly has exhibited widely throughout London and the South East, including multiple appearances at the Affordable Art Fair Battersea, the Battersea Art Fair, and Paperleaf Art Fair, alongside solo exhibitions in Teddington and Hampton Court. Her paintings are held in private collections across the United Kingdom, France, Spain, Thailand, and the United States.
Her work has been commissioned by a range of organisations, including the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit in Brighton, Kingston Museum, and Hope Rehabilitation Centre in Thailand. She has also created numerous bespoke collections for private residences, particularly in London, where collectors are drawn to the uplifting energy, symbolism, and vibrant colour palettes that characterise her work.
Holly's paintings have been featured in publications including Elle Decoration, Elmbridge Living, and Style Magazine. Alongside larger works, she is currently creating a series of paintings on paper, allowing collectors worldwide to acquire original works that can be safely shipped in protective tubes using trusted international couriers.
At the heart of Holly's practice is a belief that colour possesses both symbolic and therapeutic qualities. Through her art, she seeks to create works that inspire hope, encourage transformation, and remind viewers of their own resilience, creativity, and inner strength.
In Hollys words …,
My latest series of paintings are deeply personal and reflect on the power of identity & the alchemy it can have. Each brightly coloured Goddess or Queen is an anchor that can embody us to our highest frequency through conscious awareness.
