About glyn whiting

Biography

"My interest to create art is rooted in a love of light, atmosphere, and the technical mastery of medium. Having trained at Hereford College of Art in the 1960s and later run my own independent gallery, my creative journey spans over three decades of exploring the British landscape, fine portraiture, and sport paintings.
What drives me daily is the challenge of capturing a specific moment in time—whether it is the quiet, fleeting light over the River Arrow in Autumn, or the complex, 250-hour structural execution of an oil homage to the masters. I paint to celebrate depth, color, and storytelling, bridging traditional painterly techniques with a vibrant contemporary energy.
I want to sell my work on Artfinder because I value community and direct connection. As an artist who values transparency over subscription-heavy alternative platforms, Artfinder's commission-only model shows a true mutual investment in the artist's success. I believe your platform has a highly respected, discerning audience—particularly in the UK and Europe—that truly appreciates traditional craftsmanship and original storytelling. I am eager to share my landscapes and diverse portfolio with collectors who buy art because they connect with the time, patience, and history woven into the canvas."
