About Alisa Cherkun Drukman

Biography

I was born in Russia, where I received a classical art education. At the age of 18, I moved to Israel, where I continued my professional studies at colleges and university, earning qualifications in design, photography, and contemporary art.
My artistic practice evolves with me and with the way I experience life. I do not limit myself to a single technique, medium, or visual language. At different times, I am drawn to figurative painting, abstraction, symbolic imagery, or a combination of these. Sometimes an idea calls for a clear and recognizable form; at other times, an inner state finds its truest expression through abstraction.
I often work in series, allowing a single theme to unfold across several works. My subjects shift as life changes, but I repeatedly return to inner states, our relationship with ourselves and the world around us, memory, transformation, light and shadow, and the dialogue between the visible and the hidden.
I see this sensitivity to life, and the freedom to evolve with it, as a constant thread in my artistic language. For me, art is a living process of exploration, experience, and inner dialogue.
