Hi, my name is Lala Wu. I am a fine art photographer and artist based in Taiwan. My work explores otherness, embodied perception, and the fragile boundaries between human and non-human existence.

I am drawn to the quiet moments that often go unnoticed—the subtle movement of a body, a fleeting gaze, the texture of skin, or the space between myself and another living being. Through photography, I explore how we observe, interpret, and emotionally respond to what we perceive as “other.”

My ongoing series Under the Skin of the Other grew from this curiosity. Rather than trying to explain or speak for animals, I approach them through prolonged observation, allowing photography to become a way of getting closer while acknowledging the distance that can never fully disappear.

My work has received more than 30 international and national recognitions, including a Jury Top 5 Selection at the International Photography Awards (IPA), as well as recognition from the Prix de la Photographie Paris (Px3) and the Budapest International Foto Awards (BIFA).
