I am a passionate textile artist wanting to raise the profile of textile art. Textile art is often overlooked as ‘craft’ or women’s work and often lacking in presence in galleries. I’d like to show collectors that textile art deserves a valuable place amongst galleries and collections, as valid art. My work is freehand machine embroidery, creating drawings in thread by moving the fabric freely underneath the needle. It has a depth that is not seen in traditional drawing methods.
