About Lynn Mayes

Creating is a way for me to communicate.  I developed an allergy to oil resins and solvents in 2013 and have been painting is acrylics since that time.  I paint on a textured support (canvas or wood), use brushes or fingers or palette knife, and layer the paint with glazes or other mixed media.  My current work is focused on abstract painting, and I find this type of painting very challenging.  The composition is the most important element in holding the work together along with colors that complement each other..landscapes and figures are easy to design but abstracts are always a mystery to me.
