The best things arrive without warning, too sudden and too bright to do anything but feel them. Love has a way of flying in exactly when you stopped looking for it.
When Love Flies In is an original acrylic painting on board, 30 x 20cm, part of my ongoing series The Middle Country. It began the way these paintings always do, with a loose, accidental ground, half accident and half intention, made somewhere in the middle where the paint and I meet. Out of that ground came a burning orange and gold landscape, a tree full of cockatoos taking flight, and two figures standing hand in hand watching them go.
I paint the things that mean something to me: my family, held in the figures and the birds, moving through a glowing, imagined Australian landscape. This one is about the things that catch us off guard, the ones too bright and too sudden to be planned for, arriving exactly when we needed them most.
Painted with artist quality acrylics on MDF board. Ready to hang. Certificate of authenticity included. Ships worldwide direct from my studio in Brisbane, Australia.
