Galina Zimmatore is a contemporary artist based in Devon, South West England, creating atmospheric abstract and semi-abstract paintings inspired by the natural world and the way places are remembered and felt.

Her work is rooted in a fascination with changing light, colour, texture and the emotional character of a landscape. Coastlines, moorland, mountains, open skies and ancient places often appear in her paintings, but they are transformed rather than simply reproduced. Galina combines observation, memory and imagination to create works that move between recognisable scenery and expressive abstraction.

Working predominantly with acrylic and mixed media, she builds her paintings through layers of colour, marks, texture and experimentation. Each piece develops intuitively, allowing unexpected shapes and rhythms to become part of the finished composition.
