Entering the Fjord is an original semi-abstract mixed media painting inspired by the mystery and dramatic beauty of travelling into a remote mountain fjord.

A lone sailing boat moves quietly across deep blue-violet water towards snow-capped purple mountains. Moonlight catches the peaks and water, creating a calm, mysterious atmosphere and a feeling of travelling into an unknown world.

The scene came from my imagination rather than one particular place. I wanted to capture the contrast between the small boat and the vast landscape — a sense of solitude, exploration and quiet adventure. Layers of acrylic and mixed media build colour, texture and expressive marks across the canvas, allowing recognisable landscape elements to merge gently with abstraction.

The painting measures 70 × 50 cm unframed and is presented in an off-white floating frame, giving overall framed dimensions of 77.5 × 57 × 4 cm. It is ready to hang, signed by the artist on the front and comes with a signed Certificate of Authenticity.

For me, Entering the Fjord is about moving forward into the unknown with calmness and purpose, while leaving space for the viewer to imagine their own story beyond the mountains.
