Original artwork description
Located on the Isle of Skye in Scotland you can find the amazing Old Man of Storr, a rock formation that dominates the landscape.
There are a few legends about this famous rock. The first one being that there was a giant who had lived in Trotternish Ridge and when he was buried, his thumb was left jutting out the ground, creating the famous jagged landscape
Another popular legend tells of a brownie - a Scottish hobgoblin-type creature. It is said a villager called O’Sheen saved the life of a brownie and the two became firm friends.
O’Sheen died from a broken heart following the death of his wife and the Brownie was so upset he took it upon himself to chisel two rocks - one in memory of O’Sheen and a smaller one to remember his wife.
