    Artist Statement

Peter Slade is a British artist now based in Sweden. His work, which has been shown in a number of UK galleries, explores consumer culture through large-scale hyperrealist painting. Working mainly in acrylic, he transforms familiar objects—iconic brands, everyday packaging, and symbols of popular culture—into subjects for closer attention and reflection.

These objects are more than everyday items. They hold memories, associations, and shared cultural meaning - carrying traces of history, and human connection.

Peter is particularly interested in the power of branding and the way consumer images shape both personal memory and collective experience. His paintings celebrate the visual appeal of familiar objects while also encouraging reflection on consumption, value, and desire.

Through careful attention to surface, texture, and light, he elevates the ordinary into something lasting and significant. His work sits at the intersection of realism and cultural commentary, offering both immediate visual impact and deeper meaning.

Peter Slade's paintings invite us to look again at the everyday objects that quietly shape modern life.
