I am a Melbourne/Australia based artist whose sculptural drawings have evolved from a lifetime dedicated to figurative sculpture. I trained in sculpture at Monash University Melbourne, then decades working primarily in bronze, creating intimate pieces and large scale installations. Today my focus is on pen and ink sculptural drawings. These works carry a deep understanding of physical presence, that comes from years modelling in 3D. Delicate, yet powerful, they explore the human figure, emotion, vulnerability and the uncanny with quiet intensity. After years shaping form, freedom and precision is now found with ink on paper. The drawings invite slow looking, and emotional connection, in a fast moving world.
