“Fractured Reverie” is an ink on paper sculptural drawing, inner storms rage beneath a quiet exterior. Through layered frenetic marking, I explore the tension between emotional chaos and the masks we wear. That fragile space where exhaustion meets quiet resilience. The heavy turtleneck, the weary gaze, bleeding palette of black, teal and red, reflect the weight of the unspoken. The ‘expressive’ mark making- Anselm Kiefer, (layered materiality and memory) Egon Schiele (jagged and psychological lines) The lines become a form of visual autobiography, not illustrating the subject, but embodying their emotional state. The layered marks transform the portrait from a simple likeness into a psychological landscape. Each layer of ink represents accumulated thoughts, memories and emotions, and time.
