Red dressed (2017) Original Acrylic Painting by Gordon T.
20.32 x 29.21cm (unframed)
£200.41
Original artwork description
Acrylic colour on acid free watercolour paper 300gm weight , 8 x 11.5 in, 21 x 29cm
Small projects in A4 size are great to work out ideas, and just as a way of keeping in touch with colour and paper. Here I am using a loose approach to applying the colour, more abstract. The simpler result can be quite refreshing. People and figure always make a good subject. This is totally improvised colouring based on a simple outline reworked from one of my earlier sketches. The lines are fluid, the challenge is to put movement into the painting with colour and ‘splash’.
This is part of a series of dance movement. This design is taken randomly from my pile of pencil & graphite sketches & exercises. I finally get around to reworking the wonderful sketch and expanding the idea.
The close up picture is to give a better sense of the paint, paper and the brush stroke. Then there’s the work in progress in my studio.
