There’s a short period when you are enough for your child, and then it ends. NOT ENOUGH is about that profound shift.
Nothing bad happened; they are just growing, needing more space and more of their own world. It is important to realize that you stopped being everything for them. You step back a little, watch more, and interfere less, even when you want to.
While painting this, I kept thinking that maybe this feeling is necessary. Because without it, we would hold on too tight, trying to stay "enough" instead of letting them become themselves. It’s uncomfortable, but it's part of loving them honestly.
