Original artwork description:

I can remember my bedroom as a teenager and all of the pictures of Kurt Cobain tacked to the walls. The shirt I had with his iconic photo and the years of his birth and death underneath it and how there had been holes torn in it on each side of my waist caused by so many failed attempts at dropping in off a half-pipe when I first learned how to skate. I wore that shirt all the time until it was basically a rag. Nirvana was my band and Kurt was my god. His music and persona was exactly what I needed when I was 15 years old. Today I still like Nirvana but am having such a hard time knowing where the (almost) 25 years since his death have gone. I’ve painted dozens of iconic people but for some reason am just now painting Kurt. This painting was made with oil paint on 16in. x 20in. canvas. The original sold but I am now making it available as limited edition prints.
