Full Feather IV (1922) Lithograph by Michaela Wheater

Full Feather is a portrait of me wearing my Great Grandmother's hat, a hat that my mother has looked after and subsequently given me to take care of. During my childhood I have memories of it kept safe inside mum's wardrobe, although I did wear it modified so that I would look like Dick Turpin in a gymkhana fancy dress!
This print is a kitchen lithograph made with oil based inks and using cola to etch a hand made drawing onto kitchen foil. It is 5/5 from a variable edition. Each one is similar to the others but unique in how the image is received by the paper. It is a bleed print with the image going up to the edges of the page.
Amongst other exhibitions this print was shown at the RBSA Print Prize in Birmingham in 2023.
