About Lynne Douglas

Biography

Lynne creates artwork designed to bring a lasting sense of calm, light, and quiet refinement into the spaces we live in.

Her work, spanning fine art photography and abstract painting, is deeply inspired by the coastal landscapes of the Scottish Highlands and islands. Here, shifting skies, tidal waters, and weathered shores offer an endless, timeless language—one she translates into pieces that feel both expansive and deeply restful.

Collectors are drawn to the scale and atmosphere of her photographic works. These large, luminous pieces open a room, creating depth, softness, and a sense of breathing space—qualities increasingly sought after in modern interiors. They sit effortlessly within both contemporary and classic settings, offering a subtle focal point without overwhelming the room.

Her circular abstract paintings bring a different, yet harmonious presence. Formed through flowing pigments and finished with layers of high-gloss resin, they catch and reflect light throughout the day—echoing the quiet movement of water and the shifting tones of the shoreline. Each one is entirely unique, with a richness and depth that reveals itself over time.

Every artwork is created using archival materials and a meticulous, layered process, ensuring longevity as well as beauty. These are pieces made not for a season, but for years to come—art that settles into a space and becomes part of its rhythm.

Her work has been exhibited internationally, including in Seoul, and selected for installation at the renowned Mayo Clinic—a setting where art is chosen for its ability to promote calm, clarity, and wellbeing.

Today, her work is collected by private buyers, interior designers, and commercial clients in over 35 countries who value understated luxury, atmosphere, and scale. Many return to collect again, seeking to carry that same sense of stillness throughout their spaces.

Each piece is created with a clear intention: not simply to fill a wall, but to transform it—into a horizon, a moment of pause, a quiet place to return to, day after day.
