About Félix Rubio
Biography
My painting moves between expressive figuration and abstraction, exploring identity, memory, solitude and the fragile relationship between individuals and their surroundings. Influenced by my philosophical background, I seek not to reproduce reality but to question how we perceive and experience it.
I work primarily with oils, acrylics and mixed media, combining glazes, impasto and textured surfaces. I deliberately preserve traces of the creative process, allowing unfinished areas to coexist with carefully developed figures.
In October 2026, I received the Premio Comune di Costigliole d'Asti at RORÀRTE, Italy, for "Alla vita", including a solo exhibition at the historic Castello di Costigliole d'Asti in 2027. My painting "La mónada de Leibniz" was also selected for the XLVII Premio Gredos de Pintura in Spain.
OrbitArt International Prize 2026 — Jury Selection for Hard Bop Jazz, ranked 24th among 519 entries.
Earlier in 2026, "Broken Communication" received a Menzione di Merito at the 6th Biennale della Creatività W.A.B. in Bra, Italy.
