Wheat Field (2014) Original Watercolour by Morag Paul

This field is near my home and I walk beside it with my dog almost every day. When the wheat was almost ready for harvesting, I painted this scene standing on the edge of the field. I love the way the crop moves in the wind like a sea and wanted to accentuate the beauty of the heads of the wheat and the contrast between its light golden colour and the dark green of the summer forest beyond it.
