WATCHING
Series: Maybe I’ve Always Been Here
Year: 2025
Medium: Acrylic on canvas
Style: Contemporary Symbolism, Expressionism, Minimalism
Subject: Figurative, Mythology, Women, Nature, Ocean, Light

Artwork Description

WATCHING presents the Goddess in another form — as night and ocean becoming one. Waves dissolve into the dark sky, while the horizon disappears, echoing a recurring motif of the series in which boundaries between worlds and temporal states are erased.

The setting sun behind her head glows like a halo, marking her role as guardian, while her hair becomes the movement of water.

In the foreground, two red-and-yellow boats drift across the waves, carrying the vulnerable rhythm of the human world. Further into the darkness, a lighthouse stands, offering direction without imposing a path.

The Goddess does not intervene. She holds, observes, and remembers.

WATCHING speaks of a presence that has always been here — observing the movement of life, guiding through cycles, and bringing the human, the natural, and the cosmic into a single living whole.
