Original artwork description
The Veil is part of my ongoing exploration of the fragile boundary between the human figure and the natural world. I work with botanical imprints, fragments of paper and painted skin, allowing them to overlap, merge and sometimes disappear into one another.
I am drawn to what remains only partially visible — traces, fragments, memories. Here, the figure seems to emerge from the organic matter and, at the same time, slowly dissolve into it, as if the boundary between body and nature had become uncertain.
The Veil is part of The Forest’s Heirs, a series that explores the memory of an ancient bond between human beings and the natural world. Its figures carry within them something received long ago, almost unknowingly, quiet traces of this distant memory, surfacing through skin, leaves and organic forms, fragments of something ancient that still belongs to us.

Acriyc clorors and collage on 100% cotton canvas.
