Original artwork description
This is a homage to the great Bulgarian Empire of the Middle Ages, meant to embody the strength and power of its rulers. Bulgarian Tzars were well-known and feared throughout the Balkans, while all of their identities melt into one emblematic figure. I have attempted to take the most prominent characteristics of these rulers and weave them into this small-scale piece, from sturdiness to crudeness, from fearlessness to might. I thought it best to use a dull surface, instead of a sheen bronze.
