The Timeless Ideal (2026) Original Oil Painting by Mila Moroko

£2,500

In this piece, I bring together two iconic female visages separated by centuries: Leonardo da Vinci’s La Scapigliata from the High Renaissance, and Marilyn Monroe, the ultimate muse of the 20th century. By enveloping both portraits in the warm, monochromatic tones of an ancient fresco and unifying them with a delicate craquelure texture, I sought to erase the boundaries of time.

They face one another as equals in size and presence, engaged in a silent, eternal dialogue. This painting is an exploration of the immutable: a statement that the essence of feminine beauty, grace, and inner light remains absolutely unchanged, whether an image was born 500 years ago or nearly 100. Trends, mediums, and eras shift, but the profound force of the feminine soul and its ability to bring harmony into the world is constant and eternal.
The work is ready to hang without framing.
